The members of the Apostolic Christian Church in Rittman, Ohio, felt the need to provide care and comfort for those who had reached the time in their lives when they could no longer care for themselves. In July of 1974 this congregation took steps to establish the Apostolic Christian Nursing Home. In August of 1975 ground was broken for the construction of a 51 bed facility, with the support of the Apostolic Christian Churches in Akron and Mansfield, and later support from the Apostolic Christian Church in Smithville. We opened our doors in September 1976.
In time we found the need to expand, and added a third wing bringing our total nursing home beds to 75. Later we felt the need to provide accommodations for those who did not require continuous care and our assisted living wing was added. Apartments were constructed for those who were looking to live closer to a healthcare campus with emergency assistance available.
We have licensed nurses and certified nurse aids, as well as a very qualified support staff. We appreciate our many volunteers who give freely of their time to help serve our residents.
The Village is conveniently located in beautiful Wayne County just a short distance from Wooster, Wadsworth, Barberton and Orrville.
For over 40 years the Apostolic Christian Village has provided a haven to many. As you visit you will discover a compassionate, caring staff and well cared for residents our number one priority. Our goal is to provide this care with love, patience and kindness. This means that you will have the peace of mind that comes from knowing that you have made the very best decision for your loved one.
